Nanami Cowdroy

It is not often that i stumble across an artist whose work grabs me so that i immediately begin to horde all information, media and preferably anything labeled as ‘limited edition’ like there is no tomorrow.
The last time was that wonderful german 3D artist DAIM (www.daimgallery.com) who struck me with his dali-esque shading techniques and ….hold on, that is not why i am here.
Nanami Cowdory is one such artist, having first encountered her work on the gelaskins site when browsing for laptops skin covers. Her work struck me in both it’s simplicity and complexity, and it did not take much portfolio browsing before i was hooked.
I am not going to tell you more, ..you can go along to Nanami’s site and form your own opinions, the reason i am here is to show off my recently received gift from Nanami.
After much emailing back and forth (so pleased i was not brushed off as just your everyday stalker) it came to light that she would be producing a run of 100 limited edition laser etched skatebaords called ‘Suspended Animation featuring her Koi work, ..and would i like one.
Would i? …i thought about it long and hard (by long and hard i mean the time it takes me to flick from my email program to my paypal account) and decided that this would definitely be a welcome addition to me collection of never-to-be-skated decks (getting old fast :) ).
To cut a long story short, ..i am holding it, it is incredible, and i haven’t even said thank you properly yet, but i will, ..in the meantime, i am one very happy man.
Thank you Nanami.
