Taylor James

After the close of VI I was asked to take on the development of a WordPress site for leading creative production studio Taylor James.

The designs were completed by VI and the development enabled by to rely push the boundaries of WordPress once again in a way that I had not been asked to do for a few projects and really was a welcome challenge.

The site is essentially a portfolio showcase, however given the intense visual nature of the work and the large collection of projects all with different forms of media if also became another nice example of moulding WordPress into a custom highly usable CMS to achieve organisation, categorisation and association to a level beyond the normal blog.

The end result is still with a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite sites to have worked on and one at the time of writing I feel most proud of the accomplishments, especially functionality such as the user lightbox which allows users to add any images or video from anywhere on the site to a an unlimited number of user lightboxes that can be viewed, saved and shared at will all done with nothing more than the clever use of session variables and some modification of the Gravity Forms plugin which has become a mainstay key weapon in my development arsenal.

Custom Vimeo control and subtle uses of the jQuery toolbox make this site a blend of highly functional elements providing a user rich experience.
